A LITTLE UNDONE
THERAPY WITH PARUL
Welcome to A Little Undone - a therapy practice I started to offer a space for unbecoming and becoming, to people who feel a little overwhelmed, a little stuck, or a little unsure.I'm Parul Gupta, a counselling psychologist, and I work with adults navigating emotional, relational, and existential concerns through a psychodynamic and psychosocial approach.
About Me

I’m Parul Gupta, a Counselling Psychologist (queer affirmative, trauma-informed) with a background in psychology and business. My professional journey began in management consulting but I eventually found myself returning to psychology, drawn by a deep interest in understanding people in their full complexity and a desire to contribute meaningfully to their well-being. Another reason was my preoccupation with questions of meaning, purpose, justice, politics and the kind of world we are collectively building. My work is shaped by this dual commitment to the inner lives of individuals and to the social, political and cultural contexts that we inhabit and build. This space was born out of a belief that to be undone is to be vulnerable, to be shaped, moved, even unmade by our relationships. This vulnerability is not a weakness. Rather, it’s what makes us human, capable of grief, love, and transformation. To be 'undone' is to step out of rigid identities or norms and let ourselves be affected, disrupted, and sometimes, changed, often painfully but also meaningfully.

Therapy with me

I work with a psychodynamic and psychosocial orientation, particularly informed by relational and social psychoanalytic thought. I see the therapeutic relationship as a living, dynamic space where relational patterns can unfold and be gently worked through.I do not intend to pathologize or fix. Rather, my aim is to understand how ways of being that may seem difficult or painful often arise from early experiences, unmet needs, or relational and social wounding. In this sense, therapy becomes a space where disowned parts of ourselves come into awareness: longings we’ve had to bury or truths we’ve been unable to face. And we are undone by it, whether in life or in therapy. But in these moments, we also get a glimpse into what lies underneath and a chance for transformation.I believe the work of therapy is to cultivate the ability to stay with that undone-ness, to transform through it, to allow for greater honesty with ourselves within a relationship of trust. In doing so, we free up energy previously spent on internal concealment, and make more room for love, work, and meaning.I work with adults (18 to 40) navigating a range of concerns as mentioned below, in both Hindi and English languages. However, I do not currently serve individuals navigating suicidal thoughts that require crisis support, psychosis, or ongoing substance use concerns. If you're experiencing any of these, I would be happy to refer you to practitioners who are better suited to support you. I also do not provide services for emergency situations. In such a case, you can contact a crisis hotline:1. Vandrevala Foundation: 9999666555 (24X7)
